THE GOLF BALL.
A Successful Affair. The Golf Bill proved itself one cf the most enjoyable functions cf ths season, and even eclipsed the Tennis Hall a? being the smartest frocked gatherifg of the jear. The jerlectly polnhed floor, combined with the really excellent music supplied by Egerton's orchestra, left the dancer nothing to wish for. A very tasteful supper was provided by Mrs Bartrom. Ihe secretary, Mr H. J'orbett, and the committee are to be complimented on their efforts in making the dance io thoroughly enjoyable. Mesdames Bayly, I. Motion, and Miss Bilkey were responsible for the attractive decorations, in which the Club's colours played a prominent part. During the eveniag extras were played by Mrs C. Motion and Miss Bowler. The following weie some of the dresses:—Mrs Abbctt, Daik velvet and lace; Miss Batty, blue silk ar.d blue ninon; Miss N. Bennett, Devonpcrt, brown satin and lace; Mrs Bayly, trange silk, gold nett overall; Miss Bowler, Core, pick satin, with lace overdress; Miss G. Bilkey, yellow satin, with lace overdress; Mrs Boyd, pink voile; Mis 3 Ccrbett, Devonport, old rose satin; Miss Cargill, cream Eilk, with lace tunic; Mrs Cargill, brown silk; Miss Dudding, blue [silk; Miss Fallwell, Otahuhu, white satin, hail overdress; Miss Hunter, Hamilton, cream silk, ninon oveid.ess; Miss Hanra, Auckland, shell pink silk crepe, relieved with black velvet; Miss Lennon, white silk, lace overdress; Mrs C. Motion, Waiuku, pale blue ninoo, silver trimmings; Mrs I. Motion, blue charemeuse, oriental ttimming; Miss Shipheid, heliouopa satin; Miss Savicb, Otahuhu, maize satin.
