The Rubbish Dump.

| TO TIIE EDITOR, j Sir,—As a visitor to your beautiful district I am greatly surprised to see that the Borough Ccuncil have made a dumping gruund on one of your main roads ana ju9t alongside the railway line, so that one of the things to first meet the eyes of oassengers on the trains is an accumulation of unsightly rubbish and old rusty tins at the entrance to the borough. One would have thought that soma out-of-the-way gully would have been civ sen for <such a purpose instead cf a mun road. At the spot mentioned therj is a high bark, and if horses should become frightened at paper, etc. blowing about, the borough might be held liable for any accident occurring.—l am, etc., VISITOR. Pukekohe, September 22ni.
