DRURY.

ROAD HOARD. The Drury Boail Board met o:. Saturday. A good deal of business was transacted. A claim by Mr Wardell, of Opaheke-for damages to a trap caused by upsetting over a heap of road-metal —was considered and the Board's reply decided upon. An interesting discussion evolved' over the position between the Eoad Board and the Franklin County Council with respect to the upkeep of roads, and bridges thereon, which tho Council have taken over. Tho Board decided to strike a three-farthing rate, an amendment to make the rate a half-penny being defeated. The over-hanging trees along Beach road were discussed, and the owners are to be called upon to lop off the offending tops and brandies. The full report, which will appear in Friday's paptr, is very interesting and should be read by every ratepayer in the Druvy road district.
