BIBLE-IN SCHOOLS

0;i Thursday evening the Rev. H. Robjohns, of the Auckland centre of the Bible-in-Schools League, visited Waiuku and gave an address on the objects of the Leagus in the Parish hall. A good rumber attended and listened with great interest to the able address. Tnoae present at the close of the meeting signed th2 cards handed round, which request that a referendum be taken cn the question. The Khvs. Vaughan, Barr, tilamires and Laybourne were present.

A number of questions were satisfactorily answered. HOLY TRINITY SUNDAY SCHOOL The distribution of prizes in connection with the Holy Trinity Sunday School took pl.ice in the Parish Hall on Friday evening. Thera was a large attendance of children and the parents and friends. The Kev. C. A Vaughan presided, ar.d in handing outthepriz:s irads a few appropriate remarks. Ihe Sunday School Superintendent, Mr A. S. Vaughan, also snake and mentioned that the attendance was greater than it had been for years past, there being now 25 boys a r .d 25 girls on the roll, More teachers were required and cn appeal wa3 made to those willing to take up thia good work. A short musical programme was recdored by the children and friends, and the ladies of the congregation provided ample refreshments for all. SERIOUS ILLNESS, The many friends of Mrs Alfred Cobourne will regret to learn that her condition cau-es her relatives grave concer.i, sh? huving had a relapse. A BROKEN ARM. A lov named Robson met with an accident at Otaua a few days ago through his horse stumbling and throwing him. He received a broken arm. W.C.TU. The Women's Christian Temperance Union had a very successful mettirg in the Waiuku Public and Temperanc3 lit» 11 on Thursday evening, May 15th. There was a gco.l attendance to hear the Rev. E. P. Blarnire3 lecture on "The Democratic Vote Campaign." The Rev. Lay bourne presided. 1 lie address was excellent, was greatly appreciated and received a h:atty vote if thanks. Mr Blamirfs had also I eon invited to speak cn "The Bible in School?," but handed that part over to the Kev. Kobjohns, ot Auckland.
