Mr Souster has lui.'t a new hois tpposite the creamery, and it is already occupied, FARMS CHANGE HANDS. Mr W. A. Braithwaite has sold sc.xe 2J acres of hia farm to Mr Twidle, the price being about £6O an acre. Mr Colson has disposed of his house with two acres, the price being somewhere about £7OO. A PLEASANT FUNvITION. On Friday evening Miss Johnstone wai entertained in the Public Hall, prior to taking a trip to Ireland. The Rev. F. B. Dobaon, in preeen'ing a gold watch, chain and manicure set, referred t) Miss Johnstone's long connection with the district and her helpfulness in all movements for the betterment of the settlers. Mr Alhn ako spoke of the lady's good work. An enjoyable evening was pleasantly spent. Mi3s Johnstone and Miss Hewitt sail from Wellington by the ss. lonic, and intend being awoy for a year. A musical programme, interspersed by games ani daucing was through, the following contributing items:— Mrs James Wylie, Misses Allan, R. Allan, d. Home, Bagnall aid Bishop, ard Messrs T. Millar, A. Smith, S. Harper add H. W. Driver. The proceedings concluded with cheers for Miss Johnstone and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." ST. PAUL'S CHURCH. The annual prize-giving in connection with St. Paul's Anglican Sunday School toak place at a special children's service held ir the church on Sunday afternoon. The service was conducted by the vicar (the Rev. F. B. Dobson), who in presenting the prizes, spoke of the steady progress which the school is making under tha superintendency of Mr Herbert Todd, assisted by the Misses Johnston. The following Rcholarj ol the various classes were awarded prizes:—'Girls: Iti3 Wright, Edna Wright, Iris Wylie, Una Wylie, Ina Wylie, Evolyn Willcox, Ivy Wilcox, Hazel Wilcox, Elsie Stewart, Alexa Innes, Joyce Innes, Jean Innes, Felly Tcdd", Nellie Todd, and Alice Johns. Boys: Sidoey Wilcox, lhomas Wilcox, Gordon Wilcox, Herbert Wylie, Joseph Abraham, Ivan Csthcart, Eric Cathcart, Stewart Jatr.ieson, Howard Jamieson, Charlie Jamieson and Jack Innes. Special prizes for best attendance were also gained bv Hazel Wilcox and Thomas Wilcox.
Special services in connection with Whit Sunday were held in St. Paul's Church on Sunday. Good congregations attended the services, which were conducted by the Rev, F. B. Dobsoa. The anthem, "Send Out Thy Light," was rendered by the choir at the evening service.
