The Rev. F. B. Dobson reviewed the mir.utes of tne previous meetings and also reported the phns made.
Kev. Robjohns, the secietary ci' the Auckland Province, and the Rev. VV. C. Wood, organiser of the Frankiin Bibie-in-Schools I.eagu', and abcut 30 supporters of the movement were present. On rising, Mr Robjohns paid a tribute to Canon Garland es r.n organiser, administrator and public speaker The meeting was of a conversational cider, regarding tha methods of organisation, canvassing with cards, etc., the local people exchanging- ideas and asking questions of the visiting guitl°.rnen.
The Rev. Robjohns said that experience had taught them that no other issue could go in double harness with this ooe of Bible-in-Schools. It wss not a matter of individual opinion, but no tso subjects a j , for example, "Prohibition" anj "Bible-in-Schools"' ehoulJ be delivered trom the same platform. Some who objected to Prohibition were strong supporters of Bible-in-Schocls and vice versa. Therefore, to introduce two questions was to weaken them both.
1 his led to tha Rev. E. P. Bhmires asking questions as to ;he wisdom of the W.C.T.U. discussing questions of other reforms besides Temperance at their public meetings.
The Rev. Wo:d described tha discussion of t*o subjects from the same platform as "indiscreet." Slips stating what work members were willing to undertake for the League wtra distributed and 3ome signed, as also were the requisition cards. Pamphlets dealing with the opinions of the men in charge of the education department of various States were also handed round. A vote of thanks to Mr Robjohnt was carried by acclamation.
