POULTKY AND PRODUCE. Mr J. Jones, auctioneer and grain merchant, Victoria ar.d Lome street--, Aucklaid, reports A very large volume of business has takea Hace tois week. Poultry came forward in very large supplies to a good market for prime condi tioscd birds. Heavy table roosters are in good demand, poor hens and cockerels were not well competed for. There was a very good demand for fruit, all lines being cleared at each day's sale Peaches, nectarines and, plums have taken a sharp rise. For app.s the demand was moderate exctpt for prime lines. Eggs were in better demand ; large supplies came forward. Potatoes: Prime £5 15s to £6 ss, others £4 10s to £5 5s Onions: Local, 6s to 7».
