SCHOOL AFFAIRS.
Appointment of Teachers. At Wednesday's meeting of the Auckland Board of Education several appointments, etc., of interest to this district, took place. On the recommendation of the Teachers' Selection Committee the following appointments were authoriad: —Miss C. M. Dobson, probationer Pukekohe D.H. School; Miss K. Shanahan,probationer at Bombay; Mr J. F. Potter, teacher at Papa-kura-Valley. The following 'temporary appointments were authorited: —Miss E. M. R. McLean, assistant at Pa tuma hoe; Miss M. R. Wood pupil teacher at Papakura: Mr W. A. G. Martin, teacher at Te Akau aided. Mifs Edith Alice Dobson, who was taught at Pukekohd District High School from 1905 till 1911, and afterwards snent a year at the domestic course iti the Technical College, Auckland, has just von a senior district scholafship, value £lO, with »ree tuition and £3O allowance for living away frim home. The local school staff are again to be congratulated upon this further prcof of the good service they are rendering.
