TUAKAU SOUTH.
HOOLIGANISM. What appears to be organised and dedestructive hooliganism has developed in this otherwise peaceful locality lately, and it is lucky that nj serious results to life and limb have been occasioned thereby. Last week a heavy pair of trolley wheels weie stretched across the btach road, and it would have fared ill with any belated rider happening that way. A stone-crushing plant was visited and tools, (tc., were thrown into the river and t:ie engine interfered with. Cows have been robbed of their bells, even though they have "been put on with a chain, and barbed wire fences cut in various places. To cap all, stones have been sent hurtling through th<? windows of houses in the middle of the night, to the no small alarm of the occupants. Th 3 matter has bein placed in the hands of the police, and it is to be hoped that the offender will be brought to book. We want Mr McGough over this way, as he seems to have been successful in waylayiDg these midnight gentry. BUaY TIMES. Flaxmlling in brisk here now, all the mills running full time, ana the river trade is likewise. Our roads are showing a 10. of wear and tear, and will want a lot of repair to make some places passable ihis coming winter.
