WATER SUPPLY. A large spring of sparkling water in Mr McElwain's gully has just been harnessed up with a powerful No. 4 ram, and water is to be supplied to the larms of J. McElwain, C. T. Barriball, R. James and E. Barriball. The height to which the water will be taken is over 130 feet, and about 60 chains of piping is employed in the work. The ram is expected to deliver about nine or ten hundred gallons of water a day. This is one of the best and cheapest water pumps to be found, and with the numerous streams and springs auout the district it is a wonder more rams are not installed.
Messrs Taylor and McEwan have another plant to fit up for Mr West. The supply for here is also 10 be taken from Mr McElwain's gully. PROGRESSIVE FARMERS.
