RECREATION GROUND LOAN.
The support given by the ratepayers to the proposal of the Borough Ccun cil to raise a loan of £2OOO for the purchase of a Domain and Recreation Ground should be gratifying to tbe Council. The figuies were: For the proposal 76 Agai ist the proposal o4 Majority in favour 42 The poll wu3 disappointing so far as the number who vov.d was concerned, but the weather conditions were so desperately bad thai a small poll was inevitable. The decision makes if quite clear that the people of Pukekohe have made up their minds upon a policy of progress, upon which they are to be congratulated. It now remains for the several bargains to be completed a.id to have the work of arranging the borough's Domain pushed aheac*.
