LAWN TENNIS.

Pukekohe v. Papatoetoe. The Papatoetoe players visited Pukekohe on Saturday and defeated the local team by 13 matches to 8. The visiting ladies were too strong for their opponents, and carried off every match in these sections. With the men the advantage was with the home side, but not to a sufficient degree to counteract the strength of the visiting ladies. Time did not permit the mixed doubles to be finished. The weather was perfect, and there was some very good tennis, the single between Hopkins and Wright being one of the best games played on the local courts this year, the result being 9-8 in favour of the visitor after several deuces in the last same. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies and greatly appreciated by the thirsty players. The scores were, Pukekohe players being mentioned first:— SINGLES. Scores. Hopkins v. Wright B—9 Cargiil v.
