TE HIRUA.

RAILWAY SERVICES. The agitation for better railway services Is being continued. The Te Hirua bratch of the Farmers' Union has written to the provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, requesting that its branches in the Lower Waikato shall be ask'd to support a petition, urging that the eight a.m. stock train from Mercer shall be run strictly to time on Wednesday, in order that stock consigned for Westfield may arrive at tbe proper time instead of at two p.m. as has frequently been the case. The branch also requests the support of the Lower Walkatp branches, in urging that the commission now charged by auctioneers on special dairy and horse sales shall be reduced, and that the auctioneering firm* be asked to commence all stock sales at 10.30 a m., instead of at 12.30 p.m., to enable buyers of young stock to get away from tbe yards at a reasonable boor.
