'I he coal strike has made itself felt here, and a shortage is beginning to be felt. Thd "Freetrader" has cancelled its weekly trip to Huntly till the mine opens again. BUILDINGS GOING UP. This end of the district is getting rapiuly built up Mr WLodbridgi ia just about to b;iitl a new residence for himself, and Mr L. Logan is erecting a new houae for Mr E. T. Frost. Four new houses have been put up the last few months.
BETTER WEATHER. The tins week has enabled farming operations to be carried out with despatch, and most of the oat crops are in, which tha bad weather delayed. The river is now falling to its normal height, it having been very high for the last two months.
