The Library.
To the Editor. Sir,—May I crave spaoe in your valuable paper to draw attention to the very unsatisfactory manner in which our lending library is conducted. Whilst the selection of books reflects much credit on those responsible for the choice, the entire lack of method in handling the same is almost incredible. Though every book has a distinctive number, and could easily be ranged on the shelves numerically, the present method—or, rather, lack of it—is to bundle all the books higgledy-piggledy into the first vacant space on the shelving. Needless to say, shoidd a subscriber require a particular book, tho unfortunate individual must undertake an almost interminable search and possibly only succeed in his quest after wading through the entire contents of the Library. Thanking you in anticipation.—l am, etc., Reader .
