MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Before Mr E. C: Cutten, S.M. Tlv-Tackino. W. Pouer, F. Page, W. Troupe and G. Lucas was charged that on June 28, at Puui, they did wantonly disturb an inhabitant, to wit, William Brown, by knocking at his door. Constable Willcocks stuted that during the past twolvo months or so the inhabitants of Puni district had been almost terrorised. All sorts of mischief had been committed, such as opening gates, breaking windows, throwing stones on houses, upsetting produce and damaging farm implements. He thought that an example should be made in the present cases. The Magistrate severely lectured the defendants, and fined them *ach £2 aud 10s costs. School Cases. J. W. Moore, Jane W. Wright, W, J. McFadden, 0. Arvidson, R. Reddeway, and W. fl. Howe (all of Patumahoo), were fined in sums of 10s to 18s, with 13s 6d costs, for failing to send children to school.
