LOST IS FOUND.

100 MILES FROM HOME. The Stolen Soultoria. The sensational theft of the racing mare Soultoria, wl ; ch was taken from her stable at Vermont, Pukekohe. on Tuesday evening of last week, has been the chief topic of discussion. She has been found 100 miles from home at Te Rau-a-moa, a bush settlement half way between Pirongia and Kawhia. Apparently the hue and cry that was set up was too much for the thief, and the animal of which possession hud been gained at so much risk was abandoned. Constable WiMcocks, who has been most energetic in directing the search, had a most singular experience. Her near lore'eg was swollen, and she had " gone a" over " An ex licit gave the opinion that her foreleg, shoii'der and back had been ricked by a fall. But the curious j thing was that a lew days later the | animal was peiin-tlv well and carried her rider •>0 mile.-, without trouble. The theoiy advanced is that the captor of Soultoria put the constable's horse out of action by ati injection in tho foreleg i order to delay pursuit. If that was so the whole affair must have been veiy painstakingly planned. The recove.y of the stolen mare was due to the hotriess with which the pursuit was undertaken.
