TUAKAU.
A meeting of the Management Committee of the Raglan Union was held in the Tuakau Hotel on Wednesday evening to consider the protest entered by the Onewhero team against Tuakau. The Onewhero team complained that Tuakau's winning try \vas scored 15 minutes after " no-side " should have been called. Full evidence was taken and after a lengthy discussion the protest was dismissed on the casting vote of the Chairman. Mr J. Pirrott, referee of the United v. Kohanga, reported having to order a Kohonga player off the field ; this punishment, he thought, would be sufficient. The meeting adopted the referee's suggestion. Mr T. Geraghty, who has been for the past two years employed by the NZ. Railways here, has received notice of transfer to the Helensville section and leaves Tuakau in a fortnight's time. On the 12th inst. the Tuakau Women's Christian Temperance Union hidden "At Home " in the Hall to celehriite~ , '%White Ribbon Day," also the Union's birthday. Mrs iiridge took the chair. After a welcome address by the President, Miss Taylor played an overture. Songs were rendered by Mrs lilamires, Mrs Pilkington and Miss Scanlen, and a recitation by Miss Deeble. Addresses wore delivered, by Mrs I'acey and Mrs Snowden, of Auckland, and the Rev. E. P. Blamircs. Afternoon tea having been dispensed brought to a close a very enjoyable and profitable after- ! noon. The large attendance showed I an increase of interest in the work by ! the ladies of the local and surround--1 iug districts. I •>
