A SHOOTING MISHAP.
A nasty shooting accident occurred at I'aerata on Saturday to Mr George Youd, of Grey L3llll, Auckland, who was a member of a rabbiting - paity from Perkins 1 establishment. It appears that some quail wore put up, and in ihe flutter and lunning übout which ensued Mr Jackson' 6 gun was aicidentally discharged, part of the£ contents of a single-bar?oiled gun findA ing lodgment in Mr l'ouct's back, shoulder and aim, at a distance of about -'SO yards. The injured man was given temporary assistance, and on the evening's tram was accompanied to Auckland Hospital, where an operation was to be performed for the removal of the pelbts. It is an extremely fortunate thing that the charge scattered, and the recovery of the patient, is exp^R^i.
