ON THE LINKS.

Pukekohe Coif Club Opening. The weather was very favorable on teaturday for the official opening of the Pukekohe Golf Club. Over thirty members and visitors were at afternoon tea on Adams' Bock, and the splendid panoramic view obtained gave added pleasure to the outing. Mr A. Grigor, Vice-President, welcomed the visitors, and after speaking of the attractions of golf, expressed the hope that the Club membership would soon be largely increased. Mrs Wake, wife of the President, (whose professional duties had unfortunately prevented him from attending) drove off the first ball. As a memento of the occasion Mrs Wake was presented with a cane in the form of a go!f club, kindly presented by Mrs Clark, of Paerata. After refreshments bad been served (for die work in connection with which Messrs Dansey and Hunter were responsible), players and spectators proceeded round the links. The country was much admired, and the winter game of games successfully established in Pukekohe.
