A large and influential deputation, consisting of the Presidents of the Waiuku, Mauku and Packington branches of the Railway League, and leading residents of Waiuku, recently waited on the Premier (Mr Mackenz e) in order to urge the authorisation of the Waiuku Railway line during the coming session of Parliament. Mr Chalmers, one of Waiuku's leading public nieu, who had this end of the deputation in hand, is now organising a monster petition setting forth the names of all the residents this Waiuku railway would serve, with the object of strengthening the hands of Franklin's representative, Mr Massev, when he is urging the district's rights" to this long promised line during the coming session.
