THE WATER SERVICE.
In Pukekohe Borough.
At the last meeting of the Pukekohe Town Hoard, the engineer, MrC. Suggate reported that the contracts for trenching and spiral piping had advanced as far as they possibly conld at present and as the reservoir would not be completed for four or five weeks both contractors were leaving for the time being. Certain alterations made consequent upon the new bridge being erected at the railway crossing had been done. The walls of the reservoir were practically finished, and the plasterers were to start on Monday. The walls of the power house were finished, and the iron roof was cut ready for erection. He understood that all the pumping plant was now on the spot.
The Board gave consideration to all matters arising out of the report. It was suggested fhat the price for water should be fixed vt Is 3d por 1000 gallons for those in the town district, and Is 9d per 1000 gallons for those outside the town area.
