OREPUNGA-ARAPUNI ROAD.

WORK STARTED. Mr. C. H. Clinkard, M.P., has advised the Putaruru Press that the work of doing the Orepunga-Arapuni road and the erection of the Waiteitei bridge will be commenced at once. The county engineer (Mr. M. E. Fitzgerald) has stated that the vote for the work was in the access to outlying districts section of the Estimates. The sum of £I4OO (£3 for £1) was voted for the road, and £9OO for the bridge. The work was in the nature of relief work and the county had found £SOO towards it. A start has been made with the work.
