Tokoroa.
Farming. The farmers are rejoicing at the excellent growth of grass that prevails. The calving season has been favourable and everything points to a successful dairying year. Seven new settlers have started supplying the factory and three men, in addition to the manager, are employed at { the factory, where the supply is '’•greater now than it was at the end of September last year. Popular Young Lady. Miss Mitchell, who for some time was in charge of the post office, has resigned her position, in view of her approaching marriage. The ladies of Tokoroa tendered Miss Mitchell an afternoon function, at which a pre- . ,-sentation was made. The popularity ■of Miss Mitchell vyas further testified ■ to by a function given in her honour P by the members of the Tokoroa Moonlight Club. A presentation was also made at this social. Miss Robinson has succeeded Miss Mitchell as postmistress. Personal. Mr. J. Price, who recently underwent an operation, has returned to his home. Mr. J. H." Nicholson is seriously ill with pneumonia. Mr. D. V. Johnston, who recently met with a serious motor accident, is making good progress towards recovery.
