MORRINSVILLE BRANCH.. November Meeting. ~ A well-attended meeting of the Morrinsville branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held on Saturday evening, the president, Mr. G. Pirrit, presiding.

Services Appreciated. Appreciation was expressed by members of the excellent manner in which the secretary (Mr. J. L. Faulkner) had set out the attractions of the Morrinsville district in his letter to English, Irish, Scotch and Australian veterinary colleges stating the suitability of the district for a veterinarian in private practice. Sale of Tarpaulins. Replying to the branch’s request,. Mr. H. H. Sterling, general manager of railways, advised that the department had been selling condemned tarpaulins to farmers and others for some time. Members considered the price,, which was stated in the communication, to be reasonable, and that the tarpaulins would make excellent, stack covers. It was decided to purchase a sample one. Annual Bull Sale. Referring to the complaint by the branch that the annual bull sale was held too late in the Morrinsville district, the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company advised that it would endeavour to arrange to make thefixture earlier for next season when drawing up the 1930 calendar. General. The chairman and Mr. P. S. Philpott were appointed a committee to confer with the Morrinsville Chamber of Commerce in issuing 'an invitation to Mr. Ziman to deliver an address on “ International Peace.” It was decided to cancel the December and January meetings as I usual. I The Piako County Council advised that foremen had received instructions to have gorse growing on roadsides where Otorohanga shingle had been dumped grubbed out.
