Wedding Bells.

CHRISTIE—IBBOTSON. A very pretty evening wedding was solemnised at St. Aidan’s Church, Remuera, on October 21, when Edith May, youngest daughter of the late Mr. W. Ibbotson and Mrs. K. W. Stewart, of Upland road, Remuera, was married to Cyril James, second son of the late Mr. J. Christie and Mrs. Christie, of Epsom. Rev. Ward officiated.

The church was decorated by friends of the bride, and the wedding bell suspended over the couple was made of white lilac and wisteria. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of Mr. D. Cummings (Napier), looked charming in a frock of ivory taffeta with tight-fitting bodice. The bouffant skirt, dipping at the back, had a tulle hem trimmed with taffeta rosettes. The bride wore a veil of Brussels lace and orange blossoms and carried a white shower bouquet of roses and lily of the valley. Miss Agnes Ibbotson and Miss Essie Ibbotson, sisters of the bride, acted as bridesmaids. The forriier wore a powder blue georgette frock with tucked bodice and flared peaked skirt dipping at the back and trimmed with pastel flowers. She carried a, pink shower bouquet. Miss Essie Ibbotson was similarly attired in pink georgette with a pink shower bouquet. They wore tulle hats with silver leaves and flowers to tone. Miss Winkle Brown, niece of the bride, was a charming little flower girl and wore pink georgette and net with floral trimmings and’carried a basket of sweet peas. Mr. D. Christie, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man, and Mr. C. Schrafft was groomsman. Mr. Mart McDermott was usher.

At the reception Mrs. Stewart received her guests, wearing a navy georgette ensemble trimmed with grey, and navy bangkok hat. She carried a posy of red flowers. Mrs. Christie, mother of the bridegroom, wore black and rose embossed georgette and black satin with black hat and osprey. She carried a rose and mauve bouquet. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brown, Mr. and Mrs. George Christie, Mr. and Mrs. Weston, Mrs. Jones (Rotorua), Mrs. Harwood (Wellsford), Mrs. Francis* Mr. and Mrs. Ken. McDermott (Putaruru), Mr. and Mrs. A. Wilson, Mr. and- Mrs. Chas. Hunt, Mr. and Mrs. Mart McDermott, Mr. and Mrs. Woolley, Mr. and Mrs. Lannigan, Mr. and Mrs. A. Ratcliffe, Mr. and Mrs. W. Ratcliffe, Mr. and Mrs. Wemham, Mrs. Law (Mokai), Mr. McElwain.

MOYLE—DOUGLAS. A quiet wedding was solemnised at Knox Presbyterian Church, Morrinsville, on Monday night, between Miss Dorothy Kathleen Douglas, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Douglas, Hamilton road, and Mr. Joseph James Moyle, fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Moyle, Studholme street, Morrinsville. Rev. J. H. Starnes performed the ceremony.
