Golf.
CLOSE OF SEASON. The Putaruru Golf Club brought a very successful season to a close during the week-end, when the trophies won were presented by the president, Mr. F. C. Barnett. The following trophies were presented:—
Ladies. Mrs. Bond’s prize, Mrs. T. F. Snell ; one-club match, Mrs. Murphy ; flag match, Miss Wallis ; Mrs. F. C. Barnett’s prize, Mrs. Murphy ; stroke match, Mrs. Halse ; Mrs. R. T. Smith’s prize, , Miss Wallis ; senior championship, Miss Wallis ; junior championship, Mrs. Coupe ; eclectic, Mrs. F. C. Barnett ; Mrs. Ranger’s prize, Mrs. T. F. Snell ; Mrs. Coupe’s prize, Mrs. T. F. Snell; Miss Wallis’ prizes, Miss Coupe 1, Mrs. Murphy 2 ; Mrs. T. F. Snell’s prize, Mrs. Hooper ; Mrs. Halse’s prize, Mrs. J. A. Ranger ; Mrs. Campbell’s prize, Miss Wallis ; gold medal, Mrs. Halse. Men. Vice-captain’s trophy, Mr. Edmonds ; Mr. Smith’s trophy, Mr. and Mrs. Edmonds ; Mr. A. C. Junior Championship.—Haslett beat W. Morse in the semi-final, 3 and 2. During the day a mixed foursomes was played, Mrs. Legatt and C. Schrafft returning the best cards.
