Tokoroa.

Bachelors’ Ball. The Tokoroa Hall was packed on Wednesday evening, the occasion being the bachelors’ ball. In addition to a large contingent of Putaruru residents the neighbouring districts were well represented. The hall was effectively decorated with streamers. The floor was in first-class order. Holland’s orchestra, from Matamata, rendered excellent music. Klessrs. Clatworthv and A. McDonald were efficient M.’s C. The supper was, as one person described it, “ out on its own,” and its dispensing was carried out under the supervision of Mrs. Sloper, ably assisted by Mrs. Cooley. The Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Mr. R. Brady and Miss '• Bonniface. The spot waltz was won by Miss Jackson and Mr. L. Newell. Mrs. Finnigan and Mr. C. Brown won Che waltzing competition. The proceeds totalled £3O, and a balance of £8 is to be devoted to some worthy Putaruru object. A return ball at a later date is mooted.
