General. Mr. J. Grantham has disposed of : his acre property to Mr. W. Hogarth, formerly of Peria, at a figure approaching £SO per acre. Mortality among lambs is greater this year than for many seasons past, fhe deaths have been principally “ single ” lambs, and it is thought one of the pauses is the ewes having too much milk. Mr. F. Rose’s thoroughbred mate, Tamahine, threw a filly foal to Lapidary this week. Personal. Mr. J. Callaghan has been confined -o his bed through a leg injury. j Rev. and Mrs. Brabyn left this ] week on a fortnight’s vacation. Miss Pauline Callaghan and Mr. W. Rice were married at Woodville last yeek. They returned to Tirau on Tuesday. Mr. W. Robertson, postmaster, is on a three-weeks’ vacation. Mr. R. Long is acting postmaster, and Mr. A. H. Christianson, of Huntly, relieving officer.
