MORRINSVILLE HORSE FAIR.

The heaviest offering of horses seen at a Morrinsville sale for some time came forward at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s fair on Monday. Over 200 horses of all classes came under the hammer. Three-quarters of the offering consisted of heavy horses, the majority being of good quality. Medium to heavy draughts showing quality met with keen competition. There was an average offering of hacks, few of which showed quality. There was a poor demand for tips class of horse, and low prices ruled. Prices were as follow: Draughts.— Heavy active sorts, £35 to £4O. Medium draughts and handy farm sorts, £2B to £35. Lighter sorts, £2O to £2B. Aged farm draughts, £5 to £l2, Hacks.— Best hacks, £9 to £l2. Others, £4 to £6. Good children’s ponies, to £lO. Rougher sorts, £1 to £4.
