No confidence in the vaccine treatment of cows for contagious mammitis was expressed by members of the Waikato Farmers’ Union at their meeting recently. A remit was received from the Whangarei branch “ that the Agricultural Department come out into the open and declare the result of their experience in treatment with vaccine for contagious mammitis.” Several members detailed their experience of the vaccine treatment, and stated that no material benefit to the cows resulted therefrom.
