Bowling.
PUTARURU CLUB. Committee Meeting. The committee of the Putaruru Bowling Club met on Monday evening, the president, Mr. A. G. Leggatt, presiding. The resignation of Mr. Murphy from the committee was accepted with regret. Mr. C. C. Palmer was elected to fill the vacancy. An offer from Mr. J. R. O. Lochhead to donate trees for a hedge along the front of the green was gratefully accepted. It was decided to enter two rinks for the Easter tournament at Cambridge. I It was decided to hold the following competitions during the season : Novice singles, championship singles, handicap singles, handicap pairs and full rinks for the president’s trophies. In connection with the latter it was decided to hold a one-day tournament. Mr. Francis was elected sole selector and handicapper. Messrs. Lochhead, Palmer and King were 'appointed a competitions committee. The greenkeeper reported that the green was in fair order and could be got ready at a week’s notice. It was decided to open the season as soon as the green was fit.
