It is reported from Hanmer Springs that the recent heavy snow had the effect of driving the keas down from the high country and that sheep on the lower country suffered considerably. , Keas could be seen attacking the sheep and tearing their backs. A property! owner stated that he had lost a considerable number of sheep through keas.
