Kitchen Evening. A large number of Tirau- and Okoroire residents assembled at the Tirau Hall on Wednesday evening to tender Miss Callaghan a “ kitchen ” evening, prior to her marriage to Mr. W. Rice, which takes place this week. A large number of presents were opened by the bride-to-be and her girl friends, at the invitation of Mr. W. H. Allen. .Mr. Rice responded. The evening was mostly devoted to dancing, for which the music was played by Mesdames A. Stewart, L. Bishop and E. Selby. Mr. G. Wilson was M.C. Personal. Mrs. W. McCarthy, of Woodville, is on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. J. Callaghan. Mrs. W. T. Brabyn left for the South Island on Sunday, having received word that her mother had died suddenly on .Friday.
