Wedding Bells.
TAPP—COTTON. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at All Saints’ Church, Matamata, on Wednesday, June 12, 1929, at 12.30 p.m., when Madeline Catherine, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Cotton, Matamata, was given in marriage to Cedric S. Tapp, of Ohaupo, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. I) p_ Rev. C. W. Turner officiated. - The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a frock of ivory georgette and lace, over which was draped a dainty veil of white silk net, silver embroidered, arranged at the head by a capette of the same material, around which was a tiny spray of orange blossom and silver ribbon. Her bouquet was of white asters and roses, maidenhair fern being the greenery used. Her attendants were Miss Mavis Cotton, sister of the bride, whose tiered frock was of deep powder blue georgette, worn with a hat of the same shade of felt and panne velvet, and Miss L. Tapp, the bridegroom’s sister. Her frock was of coral pink georgette and old gold lace, with which was worn a felt hat of the same shade of pink. Soft tulle scarves and bouquets of spring flowers finished very (becoming toilettes. Little Daphne Cotton and Nessie Tapp were flower girls, and wore frilled frocks of shell- , pink and Nile green crepe-de-chine respectively. Tulle to match the frocks was swathed around their hair and tied in big bows at one side. Victorian posies were carried. Mr. G. Harrison, of Ohaupo, was best man, and Mr. C. Gardner, Matamata, groomsman.
The reception afterwards was held at Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Cotton’s residence. Mrs. Cotton received her guests in a becoming dress of fine ivory silk poplin and biege crepe-de-chine. Her hat was of black felt and satin. Mrs. Tapp, the bridegroom’s mother, was smartly attired in chicory wool crepe-de-chine, with a hat to match. The bride’s travelling frock was of mushroom wool repp, with which was worn a felt hat of the same shade, and bag, shoes and gloves to tone. A handsome Russian fox fur completed a very smart toillette. Mr. and Mrs. Tapp’s future home will be in Ohaupo.
