Miraculous Escape. Through part of the steering gear of his car breaking, Mr. E. Lowe and his wife had a narrow escape from serious injury at the junction of the Tirau-Cambridge Tirau - Matamata roads on Monday night. Mr. Lowe was driving tov.-aids Cambridge, but the car failed to respond to the wheel, went over a bank, and turned a somersault. Mrs. Lowe was pinned underneath the car by the neck, and Mr. Lowe had much difficulty in getting out of the wrecked hood. When he did get clear he rushed for assistance, and it took a number of v.en to extricate the woman. Miraculously she escaped injury, but Mrs. Lowe is suffering from severe shock. Mr. Lowe sustained a bruised arm and abrasions.
