PLUNKET FUNCTIONS.

On Friday an exceedingly entertaining and enjoyable afternoon and evening was held in the Town Hall under the auspices of the Putaruru Plunket Society. Despite the inclement weather the attendance of parents and children was beyond expectations.

After a dainty tea provided by the committee the children were entertained with games, and music was provided for dancing. The bran tub was a great attraction and judging from the exclamations which emanated from the juvenile members of the party they were wholeheartedly delighted with the result of their numerous dips. The children’s hour terminated at 8 o’clock, and tired but happy children went home to bed. As a result of this effort by the ladies the society’s funds will benefit to the extent of about £lO.
