CARPET BRAID FOR BEAUTY.
Ordinary cotton carpet braid liiay be used in various ways to beautify Hie lioine. Tlie biaid is obtainable in several widths, and in many gay colourings —rea and blue, black v.nd green, brown and yellow, and numerous other attractive combinations. It will be easy, therefore, to find one that will harmonise with an existing furnishingscheme.
CuohiOn covers of plain linen can oe made really distinctive if their edges are bohnd with carpet braid, and panels of the same braid are sewn across them. Oh ah oblong pillow of butcherblue linen a panel of red and green braid, sewn down with thick red wool, made' a very , effective decoration; while a circular beige cushion looked attractive with a round motif of brown and yellow braid. Curtains may be banded with similar ; braid to bring them into line with the- cush.'ons.
