HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s sale on Tuesday the prices for beef were on a par with late rates. A large yarding of sheep and the market showed a decided decline. Ba- , coners and porkers sold at late rates.

Cattle.— I Light fat steers made £9 ss. , Medium fat cows, £8 10s to £9 ss. Light fat cows, £6 7s to £7 10s. Forward cows, £5 7s 6d to £6. Store cows, £3 4s to £4 10s. Sheep.—

Light porkers, 31s to 395. Stores, £1 6s to £1 Bs. Slips, 14s to 18s 6d. Weaners, 3s to 11s. Baconers averaged 63d to 7d per per lb; porkers, 6d to 6id. A line of 18 prime baconers averaged £4 7s. MATAMATA. At Dalgety and Co.’s Matamata sale on Wednesday there was a good yarding of all classes of stock. Prices were on a par with late rates. The dairy stock offered was only of medium quality. Prices were:— Cattle.— Fat steers, light, to £lO ss. Fat cows, £8 to £9 10s. Lighter cows, £6 to £6 16s. Fat heifers, £6 to £7 10s. Forward conditioned cows, £4 5s to £5. Stores, £3 10s to £3 19s. 3£-year store steers, to £B. Jersev cross in-calf heifers, £7 10s to £9. f Others, £6 to £7 7s 6d. Empty 2-year heifers, £4 17s to £5. Jersey calves, £4 5s to £5. Pigs.— Over 120 fat pigs were yarded and prices were quite up to late rates. Everything offered at the sale was I sold. l

MORRINSVILLE. There was a large entry of cattle at Dalgety and Company’s sale at Morrinsville on Friday. The yarding consisted chiefly of store cows and dairy heifers. The latter failed to reach vendors’ reserves under the hammer but the majority changed hands before leaving the yards. Fat cows showed a rise on late sales,' meeting a ready demand. Store pigs were slightly easier. Prices were as follow:

Beef. — Fat cows to £8 7s 6d. Forward cows £6 5s to £6 7s 6d. Other cows £5 15s to £6. Jersey-cross heifer calves, inferior, £2 5s to £4 2s 6d. Run cows £3 13s to £3 17s 6d. Dairy Cattle.— ft, Heifers, low conditioned, £6 10s to ■ £lO 10s. 1 Sheep.— Aged ewes in lamb, inferior, 235. Shorn lambs 19s. Cull lambs 13s. Store wethers 30s. Pigs.— Small stores 225. Light porkers £2 ss. Weaners 6s 6d to 9s.

ORANGE DALE JERSEYS. District Purchases. The dispersal sale of Mr. W. J. Hall’s well-known Orange Dale pedigree Jersey stud attracted a large attendance of district buyers, and keen competition was shown throughout the sale. The top price for cows, 230 guineas, was realised by Orange Dale Alice, last year’s Royal Show champion, the purchaser being Mr. H. J. Barford, Te Poi. The buyers included the following:— H. J.
