TRANSPORT BOARD.
ITS COMING TOUR. Council to Give Evidence. A letter from the Commissioner of Transport to the Matamata County Council at its meeting on Wednesiay, requesting a return of heavy traffic fees for the past four years, was resocnsible for a brief discussion on the question of the constitution, etc., of the Transport Board. Cr. K. S. Cox, in moving that the information be supplied, asked if they would have any chance of seeing the Transport Board when they were on tour. They (the council) should watch out and see to it that their views were placed before it. The chairman (Cr. Anderson) stated that probably the board would sit in Hamilton. Cr. Cox moved that the chairman and engineer (Mr. Fitzgerald) meet them if they arrive prior to the next meeting of the council. , Cr. Bruce held that the representation on the board was unfair, as the local bodies had only two representatives. Some of the motor representatives should he eliminated and given to local bodies. Both the motions moved by Cr. Cox were carried.
