CROQUET AFTERNOON.

On Tuesday afternoon of last week Mrs. Frances, president of the Croquet Club, gave an afternoon on the lawns to the members and their friends.

Various games were indulged in, the following ladies being the prize winners:—Progressive croquet: Mrs. S. McGowan 1, Mrs. J. Campbell 2. Target croquet: Mrs. J. Campbell. Clock .golf: Mrs. I. Barnett. Afternoon tea was provided, and a most enjoyable time was spent, the weather being all that could he desired.

Ladies present: Mesdames Wyatt (Howick), Henshaw, Rainger, Rutherford, McDermott, Allwood, Boyes, Berman, Campbell, Coupe, Yandle, McGowan, Robinson, Spear, Hake and the Misses Ibbertson.
