MORRINSVILLE. An average yarding of subclasses of stock was penned at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s sale at Morrinsville on Friday. A good offering of cow beef sold at slightly above late quotations, a good demand existing. A full yarding of lambs and fat and forward ewes changed hands at late rates. Fat and store pigs were well represented but inquiry was limited and prices were easier. Prices are: — Beef.—Cows, fat £9 12s to £lO 18s. medium £7 15s to £8 10s, light £6 10s to £7 9s, forward £5 5s to £5 12s 6d, stores £3 10s to £4 15s ; vealers to £2 10s ; bulls for potting £3 10s to £6. Sheep.—Wethers, fat and forward, £1 10s ; ewes, fat to £1 6s, forward £1 2s 6d to £1 3s 6d, aged 12s 6d to 18s ; lambs, fat £1 4s 9d to £1 75,, shorn m.s. good framed 18s to 20s, others m.s. 14s Id to 17s 6d. Pigs.—Baconers £3 5s ; porkers, heavy £2 6s to £2 10s, medium £1 16s to £2 ss, light £1 7s to £1 14s ; slips 12s to 19s ; weaners 2s to 7s. Dairy Stock. —Cows, close to profit £lO 10s to £l3, in milk to £7 10a. MATAMATAThere was an extra-heavy yarding of fat and store cattle, a full yarding of fat and store pigs and an average yarding of sheep at the Matamata sale on Wednesday conducted by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company. Beef was firm at late rates, while store and forward-conditioned cows were somewhat easier. Practically everything yarded was quitted. Prices, were:— . 1 Fat lambs 25s 6d ; good mixed sex shorn store lambs 17s 9d ; smaller sorts 14s. Heavy fat cows £8 10s to £lO J medium £7 to £7 17s 6d ; lighter sorts £5 17s 6d to £6 15s. Forward-conditioned cows £4 15s to £5 12s 6d ; fresh-conditioned store cows £3 10s to £4 6s ; boners £2 to £2 12s 6d. Heifers.—Good-quality Jersey and Jersey-cross heifers £4 9s to £4 12s t smaller £1 14s to £2. Potting bulls £3 to £6 10s. Pigs.—Medium baccners £3 10s to £3 14s ; late baconers £3 3s to £3 8s t heavy porkers £2 12s to £2 18s, medium £2 3s to £2 10s, light £1 13s. to £2 Is ; slips 11s to 15s ; weaners. 3s to Bs.
