(Peter) Stewart added further lustre to his name as a bowler on Friday by annexing the South Auckland centre’s singles championship. In solo work this is undoubtedly Stewart’s greatest win for he was competing under a system which it is claimed produced the best singles players from the whole of the centre’s area. Stewart had previously been twice champion of champions for Goldfields. There is now nothing in the championship line within the South Auckland centre which Stewart has not won. Stewart won the final on Friday against P. Williams (Paeroa) by 23 11, after losing a life to the latter in the preceding game. TIRAU CLUB. The only game to be played last week in the Tirau club’s singles championship was between T. Little and J. Watson, Little winning by 184—16. The -latter is now the only player with two lives.

1 CAMBRIDGE TOURNAMENT. j The following Tirau rink has been s ' nominated for the Cambridge tournament : J. T. Swney, S. Bear, A. ■ Mouldey, W. Craig (s).
