SONG OF FAITH.
If, as Time passes, we perceive aright each flaw that marks how 'swift Life's shuttle sped, there is revealed, to our imperfect sight, the why and wherefore of each broken thread.
If we can bravely smile as we recall Fate’s spinning when it seemed most purposeless, and see how there w-iS moaning in it all, a secret that at last our souls could guess,—
If, looking back on all the complex past, the warp and woof of that obscure design slowly but surely shapes itself at last, into a fabric faith can still define,' — Then is content our. comrade to the end, and gallant grace, and fortitude serene. The fabric’s woven; and Fate cannot rend the pattern that brave insight once has seen.
