POWER STOPPAGES.

P.W.D. TO RECTIFY. Apparently the strong representations made by the Thames Valley Power Board anent the serious power stoppages on January 20 through a Public Works Department officer not being in attendance at No. 8 hut have borne fruit. At Tuesday’s meeting of the board a letter was received from Mr. T. MacLennan, district electrical engineer, in which it was stated that provision had now been made for continuous attendance at the hut. In case of breakdown all the department’s efforts would be directed towards getting back to normal operation as soon as possible. It was decided to confirm the arrangement.
