Wedding Bells.

RANDELL—DRUMMOND. A quiet wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, Silverdale, on January 22, when Miss Gladys Drummond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Drummond, of Wade Heads (late of Putaruru), was married to Mr. James Frederick Randell, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Randell, of Te Whetu, Putaruru. Rev. Shilton performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of pink-mauve shot taffeta silk I with tulle veil and coronet of real orange blossoms. She carried ee bouIquet of roses. The bridesmaid was Miss Dorothy Shilton, of Silverdale. The church had been effectively decorated with flowers and foliage for the occasion.

CONNELL —ROSS. At All Saints’ Church, Matamata, . on Wednesday, Enid Lucy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Ross, of Tai- J hoa, was married to Frederic N. j

Connell, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. j Connell, Matamata. The Rev. C. W. | Turner officiated at the ceremony. j The bride, who entered the artis- j tically decorated church on the arm j ' of her father, and to the strains of | Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, ren- I dered by Mr. P. Ingham, wore a beau- j I tiful frock of finely pin-tucked biscuit | georgette made with a yoke of Chantilly lace and drooping- gracefully at | the back. Long sleeves of georgette j and lace added to the elegancy of the gown, which was worn over delicate shell-pink satin. Shell-pink tulle, with an edging of silver lace and hand-embroidered, formed a fan- ! shaped head-dress, which was most i becoming; and then fell softly as a j dainty train. Three rows of tiny I orange blossoms were worn across j the forehead and another posy of ] marital flowers, which had been worn I by the bride’s mother, at the waist of the frock, completed a becoming and charming toilet. The shower bouquet carried was of pale pink blossoms and of ferns, while daintly high-heeled shoes of silver and pink tissue were worn. In attendance were Miss Molly Ross, wearing a pretty frock of lemon marquisette with a skirt of accordeon pleated flouncing edged with lace. A head-dress of lemon and silver tulle was worn and a lovely muff of the same shades and material took the place of the customary bouquet. Miss D. Connell chose mauve foi" the shade of her costume, which, as were the other two bridesmaids’, was made in the same style as Miss Ross’. Miss G. Scrimshaw, of Christchurch, wore blue; and Miss Archer, of Wellington, was frocked iin green. A tiny flower girl, Lola Culpin, wore cream and the little ! page boy, who was train-hearer, ws> ; suited in biscuit silk trimmed with Iblue. The best man was Mr. Hornblow, oi Auckland, and the groomsmen were | Mr. A. McKenna, Matamata, Mr. E Connell, Auckland, and Mr. P. Kilbride, Matamata.

After the wedding ceremony the guests were received at the breakfast by Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Ross. Mrs. Ross wore a most handsome gown of fiesh-coloured accordeon-pleated georgette, over which was worn a smart coat of black georgette and Chantilly lace finished with a buckle of diamante. A red bouquet was carried. The usual toasts were proposed at the breakfast table, which was tastefully decorated with pink flowers and

fernery. An original touch was provided by the serviettes, which were of a pale pink shade. A beautiful bell of pink and silver petals hung ever the wedding cake. Glorious music, by a Hamilton orchestra, was played throughout the reception. The dress in which the bride departed for her honeymoon was of au-tumn-tinted floral georgette, with ac-cordeon-pleated flouncing on sleeves and skirt; and a coat of mushroom silk poplin with self ruchings, a silk straw hat rose veil of the same shade, and gloves, shoes and a handbag all toning, formed a very smart costume.
