TIRAU v. PUTARURU. #■ Three rinks of Putaruru bowlers visited Tirau for an inter-club match during the week-end, Tirau winning by 88 points to 52. The details, Tirau rinks being mentioned first in each game, were:— Allen, A. Stewart, Mouldey, Watson (s) 30 v. Francis (s) 10. 13. Bear, Swney, Craig, W. Main (s) 30 v. Leggatt (s) 18. Naysmith, Kohi-Heremia, Jolly, T. Little (s) 28 v. Hollard (s) 24. RINKS TOURNEY. , The Tirau club held a full rink tourney recently, four rinks competing over three games of twenty-one heads. The winning rink, which went through without loss, was T. Bottomley, Kohi-Heremia, A.. Totm- rr Little (s). The winners handed the trophies back to the club. CHAMPIONS IN COMPETITION. The Morrinsville green was selected as the deciding ground for the D section of the champion of champions singles tournament under the South .Auckland Bowling Centre, played on Saturday. The championß

of several clubs in the section declined the engagement, those competing being R. Buchan (Morrinsville), F. Livingstone (Matamata) and J. A. Buckley (Frankton Railway). The latter drew the bye in the first round, so that Buchan and Livingstone met. Buchan took the lead early in the game and never lost it at any part. Livingstone was distinctly off his game, although Buchan must be given credit for a steady, sound exhibition. The Morrinsville man won comfortably at the finish by 19—10. A wind which was nearly boisterous in patches somewhat spoilt the game between Buckley and Buchan. However, Buckley proved a hard four-ball player and he gradually got away from Buchan by scoring with either his third or last howl. Buckley won by 20—9. The winner will play the winners of the other sections.

The section for the southern districts was played at Matamata. Tirau has not yet found its champion and did not compete. Results were : Stewart (Matamata) defeated Hollard (Putaruru), 21—20 ; Stewart beat W. Horton (Hamilton East), 19—18. Stewart (Matamata) will meet Buckley (Frankton Railway) in the final for the section.
