The Lady Players. In grading the ladies, Miss M. Armstrong (Cambridge) was not considered, as she has just left for Gisborne. Mrs. Kerr (Taumarunui) and Mrs. Swayne (Cambridge) were also not considered because of not having taken part in matches this season. Ladies whose claims called for serious consideration were: Miss J. Andrews (Mokai), Misses R. Murray, C. Lloyd, G. Clevely, Nutsford, Mathieson, V. Newell, Mrs. Pearson (Hamilton), Misses Hewitt and Lowry (Morrinsville), Brabutt and Thompson (Cambridge). Keen interest was taken in the exhibition tennis match held at the Cambridge courts on Saturday, in which Bartleet, Sturt, Sims and Laurenson participated. In singles Laurenson, the Matamata player, beat Sims 6—3, 6—3, and in the doubles with Bartleet defeated Sturt and Sims 6—l, 6—4. Partnered with Sims, Laurenson lost to Bartleet and Sturt, 3—6, 7—5, 6 —S.
