Tirau.

Large Land Deal. A particularly large cash deal in Tirau land is stated to have been negotiated during the holidays, Mr. W. Main purchasing the 1800-acre grazing run owned by Mr. James Taylor, of Cambridge. The property is situated on the main TirauCambridge road, about six miles from Tirau. Lamb Consignments. Large numbers of lambs are being consigned from Tirau. During the last few days 22 trucks Were sent by Mr. W. Main, 27 by Mr! R. H. Bailey and about 17 by Mr. J. Allen. A number were also sent by Mr. G. Seton. This is Mr. Bailey’s sec-jr.d consignment. The lambs are ir splendid condition. Personal. Mrs. W. D. Fraser and Miss Fitzgerald, who have been on a visit to Mr. lan Fraser at Woodlands, Invercargill, returned on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. H. Wine have left on a holiday, which will be spent in motoring over various parts of the island. Mrs. E. Kelly, of Auckland, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Hetherington, Mrs. Moncur, of Whakatane and formerly of Tirau, is ! also on a visit. I Mrs. Meehan and Miss Peggy Meehan, who have been on a visit to Fiji, are visiting their daughter and sister. Mrs. J. Keane. Mrs. Reece, of Fiji, is the guest of Mrs. J. Keane at the Oxford Royal Hotel. Bowling.

Mr. John Watson, of the Tirau Bowling Club, is in Wellington competing in the New Zealand singles championship.
