LIBRARY DANCE.
BACHELORS’ EFFORT.
A most enjoyaable dance was held on a recent Friday, being organised by the bachelors of Putaruru, under the guidance of Mr. Jack Dewse, as hon. secretary. Some sixty couples were present and a most enjoyable time was spent, the music acqgpUed - by Shalfoon’s orchestra Ijeteif firstclass. The decorations consisted of greenery and streamers, the predominating colour being grtfel and yellow, while a sumptqeus supper was provided. During the eyeoing several novelty dances and cojjspetitions were decided, the winnerfjheing: “ Lucky Spot,” dance, Miss B. Rolfe and Mr. Horrocks; Monte Carlo waltz, Mr. C. Anderson and partner. The ladies of the library committee supplied the supper and the dance which was voted on all sides to be one of the most enjoyable of the season, resulted in the sum of £4 12s being raised for the library funds.
